Description In 2018, Starbucks opened its first Italian store in Milan's Piazza Cordusio, marking a significant milestone for the brand. To commemorate the event, Starbucks turned to Accurat to design an immersive in-store experience. We created a floor-to-ceiling brass mural that tells the story of Starbucks' journey through data visualization, etched by Milanese artisans.The mural, which covers an entire wall, tells the story of the brand and its connection to Milan through layered engravings. Each layer uses different engraving techniques to highlight key moments, places and processes in Starbucks' history. To complement the physical mural, we developed an augmented reality app that allows visitors to interact with the mural, unlocking additional content and engaging narratives through their mobile devices.The AR app provides an enriched experience with detailed information about Starbucks Reserve coffees, the roasting process, and the brand's heritage. This combination of physical craftsmanship and digital technology created a unique, engaging environment for visitors, celebrating both the brand's origins and its future.
